WELCOME TO EDGEWATER!

The Edgewater Neighborhood is a favorite amongst Rockford residents! Located just west of the Rock River and north of Auburn Street you'll find beautiful, stately homes built in the early to mid 1900s. Each homes is unique and typically loaded with wonderful characteristics such as:

  • Hardwood floors
  • Coffered Ceilings
  • Built-ins such as china cabinets, bookcases, etc.
  • Decorative Moldings
  • Arched doorways
  • Leaded glass windows and doors
  • Original hardware
  • Brick-lined streets

Jesse A. Barloga (1888-1947), a notable Rockford architect, built homes in this area as well as Churchill Grove . Barloga homes are typically sought after because of the large room sizes and his forward thinking design. His signature "spider web" can be found somewhere throughout each of his signature homes. My husband's grandparents had the distinct pleasure of working with Mr. Barloga on the design on their home which was built in the late 1920s. His grandmother lived in the very same home until she was 98 year old. It is now known as the Geddes-Hagney House and has only had two owners in over 80 years!

Besides the delightful charm of the lovely homes within Edgewater itself, it also shares close proximity to the Rock River, Sinissippi Bike Path, Nicholaus Conservatory and downtown Rockford. The price range of these homes can run anywhere from $80,000 for a "starter" home to over $1,000,000 for a larger home with river location/ river view.

I absolutely love working with Sellers and Buyers in this special neighborhood !
